There are too many idiots, and not nearly enough flamethrowers. We need to fix this.

The Duo(Alpha)

"Too easy."

submission: The Duo(Alpha)
date: August 11, 2009

The game worked nice, and it was an interesting concept, but I was really disappointed in how easy it was. There was very little thinking involved, and everything was beyond obvious.

When you release the full version, please be sure to up the challenge a bit. Other then that, this is a pretty good game and I will be sure to play the full version.

Marvin Spectrum

"Insanely addicting flash."

submission: Marvin Spectrum

I can spend hours at a time playing this flash, trying to beat my own score, without even realizing how much time I had spent playing.

It is a very simple, yet very fun and addictive game. The music was perfect, and the background animations worked out really well with the whole feel of the game.

Easily one of the most addicting games on this website.

Legend of Miyamoto

"Very interesting flash."

submission: Legend of Miyamoto
date: August 2, 2009

At first, I thought it was just gonna be another Mario flash.

I was wrong.

Right away, I thought the music didn't work.

I was also wrong.

This is a great fan flash, the music oddly fits very well with the video, and the animation plus the timing are great.

Keep it up.

Newgrounds Rumble

"Sure enough."

submission: Newgrounds Rumble
date: July 29, 2009

I have always been a huge fan of this game, and I would play it constantly. It has fun gameplay, a variety of very different characters, varying difficulty so that both the new and hardcore gamers can jump in, and manages to bring with it the charm we know and love from newgrounds.

Recently, I was thinking how much better this game would be if it had medals. Sure enough, it now has medals. This is one of those games that newgrounds just does not have enough of. NegativeONE, MindChamber, and Luis never fail to deliver.

When Pigs Fly

"Decent game that needs some fixing."

submission: When Pigs Fly
date: July 29, 2009

I will start by saying that this was a very interesting game. A cute main character, and an interesting concept. The pixel animation was flawless, and the game itself was enough to keep you playing until the end. Also, seeing the little details change as you went deeper into and out of the cave was a nice little touch.

However, it had some flaws. First off all, instead of enemies that you had to avoid, this game basically turns everything into an enemy. You cant touch anything but the roof or you will die. This in itself would have been fine, maybe even a fun challenge, except for the fact that the flight controls were unforgiving, and it was near impossible to fly the pig with precision, which many of the screens require. So, a lot of the game is hoping you hit space bar soft/hard enough to not fly just an inch too high/low.

Another issue is the collision detection, which makes the controls even more annoying. Many times, the pig would die with a few inches between him and the spikes above his head. Needless to say it got irritating in the spots with very little room to move. Of course, it was never more then an inch or so off, so it wasn't game breaking.

Of course, many of these issues are forgivable due to the infinite lives you have, but you should still take all of that in consideration for the next game you make. Though the problems got irritating at times, it doesn't make this game unbeatable nor does it make it take longer then it needs to. I did enjoy playing this, and I was determined to finish it, but this game could have been better had the controls been a bit more manageable.

I ask that you, the creator, take this as constructive criticism and not as me bashing the game. I loved it, and enjoyed the challenge, but less then responsive controls should never be a part of a games challenge, even if it is only a little unresponsive.

William and Sly

"Fantastic game."

submission: William and Sly
date: July 25, 2009

I really love the laid back feel of this game. Not every game should be nothing more then non-stop action. I love the whole discovery and exploration part of it as well, and the medals make you feel like you really earned something.

One thing I've noticed is the sheer amount of people who are having trouble with the snake boss. Even before the update, the boss was very easy. People need to learn how to recognize patterns and make a strategy based on that. When you see the snake fly by with his mouth closed, go stand where he flew by. That is all it takes. My own opinion of the boss is that he was very simple, and stayed to the simplicity of the game, which is nice.

This was one of the best flash games I've played in a while. Keep it up. I hope to see more works like this in the future.

Thing-Thing Arena 3

"Nice addition to the Thing Thing series"

date: July 18, 2009

This game was pretty fun, and earning metals actually feel worth the while. However, one issue is Artifact 19 and its insanely slow reload time. It takes longer for it to reload then it does for your health to fully recover.

Also, for those who can't get A19, you must get all the weapon achievements, and they must register in the game itself (the newgrounds medals don't count). In order for the game to remember you got the 50/100 kills, you have to die after recieveing each award. Only the weapon awards are needed, ones like OVER 9000 aren't nessicary to get A19. Hope that helps some people out.

Barbarian Bob [Remake]

"A few bugs."

date: July 7, 2009

Well, though you already know the extra character doesn't die properly, he also can't finish the game. The boss just freezes, and the game neverends.

Other then that, great game.

P.S. To those who can't get shieldless wonder, all you have to do is turn off the tutorial from the options menu. Simple as that.

"Awesome"

submission: Portal Defenders

This is among the better games on Newgrounds to date. It's very fun and addicting, but it also carries an actual challenge (which is a rarity on this website now-a-days). It feels like a traditional beat-em up, but at the same time it feels like something completely different from anything in the past.

We need more flash games like this around.
